Thousands of people received a text message on Monday night from the Culinary Health Fund, which covers more than 145,000 people in Nevada including many casino workers in Las Vegas, warning them about a potentially fraudulent message they might have received.
It looks like a standard phishing attack where scammers try to trick people into believing they are owed money, before asking them to reply with personal banking information. The fraudulent text claimed that the recipient was owed $573.91.
