The absence of senior bowlers Matt Henry, Jacob Duffy, and Rachin Ravindra means this is very much a developmental tour for the Black Caps.
How Are the Venues Positioned and What to Expect?
Vadodara’s BCA Stadium hosts its first international match since renovation, and local fans have snapped up tickets quickly. The Kotambi venue offers a typical subcontinent pitch that should assist spinners as the game progresses.
Rajkot’s Niranjan Shah Stadium returns to the international circuit after hosting domestic games through 2025. The Saurashtra Cricket Association has prepared a batting-friendly track with short boundaries, perfect for Sharma and Kohli to find their rhythm.
Indore’s Holkar Stadium closes out the series on January 18. This venue traditionally produces flat wickets where the ball comes onto the bat nicely, and with dew likely in the evening, the toss could prove crucial.
